Examination Policy

St. Paul’s College, Kalamassery is affiliated to M G University, Kottayam and hence we strictly follow the guidelines provided by the University for the conduct of both Internal and External Examinations. These Guidelines will be provided by the University when there is change is Syllabus.

Examination Cell in our college handles all things related Examinations. Conduct of Internal and External Examinations, Grievances etc will be handled by the Cell. The Cell contains Principal, University Exam Assistant, Internal Examinations Coordinator and one office staff . More members will be added to the cell as per the requirement. The list will be published in the beginning of each academic year.

For the University Examinations, the following things are taken care by the Exam Cell.

  • Collection of exam fee from students
  • Exam registration
  • Time table announcement
  • Internal uploading and sending to university
  • Assigning and informing invigilators
  • Packing of papers
  • Bills will be prepared and the amount will be disbursed once we receive it.

Instructions to Invigilators

  1. No Candidates need be admitted if they do not have valid hall tickets.
  2. No students shall be admitted to the examination hall 30 minutes after the commencement of the examination.
  3. See that strict silence is maintained in the examination hall. Talking amongst candidates, borrowing of materials etc. should be strictly forbidden.
  4. Do not give any clarifications to the students regarding mistakes in question paper, mode of answering etc.
  5. Don’t enter into the examination hall if you have no duty.
  6. Keep alert, vigil and check the use of unfair means in the examination hall. In case of any unfair indulgence, immediately take custody of the answer book and make a report to the Chief Superintendent or COE
  7. Do not allow any candidate to write on the question paper. Advise them to use the last page of the answer book for rough work.
  8. Candidates should not be allowed to leave the hall before the expiry of half an hour from the commencement of the examination.
  9. See that candidates who leave the examination hall more than half an hour earlier than the scheduled time for the close of the examination surrender their question papers with their name and register number written on them.
  10. Permit the candidates to leave the examination hall only after handing over the answer book to the invigilator.

Invigilation Duty

  1. Reporting time-20 minutes prior to the exam time

  2. Collect correct number of question booklets and answer books from the Chief Superintendent and ascertain that the question papers pertain to the examination scheduled for that day

  3. žCandidates need to be admitted only if they have valid hall ticket.

  4. Proper announcements at the exam hall

  5. žDistribution of answer sheets and additional sheets

  6. žVerification of students and front sheet of the answer sheet filled by the students.

  7. Absentee list must be prepared with utmost care and double checking must be done.

  8. Report malpractices to the Chief Supdt/ COE.

  9. žCollect the answer books and arrange them in the order of register numbers and hand over the same with attendance list and unused answer books to the Chief Superintendent.
