Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Cell in association with Department of B. Voc. Tourism and Hospitality Management, IQAC and Tourism club organized a webinar on the topic ‘Innovative Entrepreneurial Practices in Post-COVID Tourism Industry’. The resource speaker for the webinar was Mr. Robin George, a tourism and hospitality educator and a research fellow. The participants were instilled with hope regarding the future of the tourism industry and various ideas were shared by the resource person regarding the skill development during the lockdown period.

An International webinar on ‘Promoting Tourism through Technology Based Entrepreneurship’ was organized by the Department of B Voc Tourism and Hospitality Management. Three eminent resource persons were in the panel for discussion. Prof. Dipti Prakash Sahu, Prof. Bindi Varghese and Dr. Santus Kumar Dep handled the session. There were 541 responses for registration and 288 participants over the time in the live session. International Seminar on Role of Intellectual Property Rights in Tourism Industry

The seminar was inaugurated by Dr T G Agitha, the Principal, Government Law College, Ernakulam followed by the keynote address by Prof. Bostjan Brumen, Dean of Faculty of Tourism, University of Maribor, Slovenia, Europe. Five different sessions were organised on various topics in a view to help the research scholars, faculty members and students, who work in the tourism industry and in tourism organisations.

Dr. Jenee Peter, Assistant Professor, Department of History, Union Christian College, Aluva delivered a talk on ‘India’s Monumental Heritage and Cultural Tourism’. The talk was followed by an interactive session for the students. The objective of programme was to put an insight among students regarding ancient monuments and how heritage tourism is a major part of India’s tourism supply.
