Two-Day Workshop on “Bibliometric Analysis & Academic Publishing”
The Research Committee and the College Library of St. Paul’s College successfully organized a two-day workshop on “Bibliometric Analysis & Academic Publishing” on March 12 and 13, 2026.
The workshop featured Mr. Jobin Jose, College Librarian (UGC), Marian College Kuttikanam (Autonomous), as the lead resource person. A distinguished researcher with 35 bibliometric papers indexed in Scopus and Web of Science, Mr. Jose offered valuable insights into the evolving landscape of data-driven research mapping and academic publishing.
The programme was designed as an intensive hands-on training session, enabling participants to gain practical exposure to major bibliometric and research analysis tools such as Biblioshiny, VOSviewer, and CiteSpace. In addition, the workshop also included discussions on AI tools for academic writing, highlighting their growing relevance in contemporary research practices.
The event was organized in collaboration with the College Development Council (CDC) of Mahatma Gandhi University and the College Librarians’ Association, Kerala (KCLA). Their support added significant value to the programme and contributed to its academic relevance and reach.
With a limited intake of 50 participants, the workshop ensured a focused and interactive learning environment for faculty members and researchers. The sessions were highly beneficial in equipping participants with the knowledge and skills needed to enhance their scholarly output, improve research quality, and strengthen institutional research visibility.
This workshop marks yet another significant step in the journey of the Research Committee towards fostering a culture of research excellence at St. Paul’s College.

Workshop on Research Methodology & Ethics
A one-day ‘Workshop on Research Methodology & Ethics’ was organized by the Research Committee on 7th October 2025, in association with the College Development Council, Mahatma Gandhi University. The workshop was inaugurated by Fr. Varghese Valiyaparambil, College Manager. Dr. Madhusudanan Kartha, Associate Professor, P.M. Government College, Chalakudy, and Fr. Dr. Jossy P. George, Director, Christ (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru, served as the resource persons. The sessions provided valuable insights into the principles of research design, methodology, and ethical practices in academic research.


Orientation program for faculty and research scholars
The Research Committee of the college organized an orientation program for faculty and research scholars on “Visible Research, Real Impact” on 18 November 2025. The session focused on enhancing participants’ understanding of research visibility and its growing importance in academic advancement. Dr. Savitha K S, Dean Research, warmly welcomed the gathering and set the tone for the event. Dr. Binu P C, College Librarian, served as the resource person and delivered an engaging session on strengthening research visibility through IRINS (Indian Research Information Network System), highlighting its features in profiling, citation tracking, and scholarly communication. Capt. Dr. Varun Varghese, Deputy Dean Research, proposed the vote of thanks.
