Three – day National Seminar

              One of the milestones in the history of the department of Hindi was the three day national seminar conducted from 25/02/2020 to 27/02/2020 on the topic, “Various Discourses of the 21st Century in Hindi Literature”. Over 65 papers were sent in for the same. The seminar was inaugurated by Dr. R. Sasidharan, (Former Vice Chancelleor & Head,Department of Hindi,CUSAT). The resource persons were Dr.Saraswthy.P,Asst.Prof.,Department of Hindi,University of Madaras. Around 70 Research paper presentations had been there,And the seminar was chaired by Dr.P.Krishnankutty(Associated professor(Rtrd),St.Albets,College,Ernakulam), Dr.Usha Nair (Head,Department of Hindi,St.Teresas College,Ernakulam),Dr.Radhamani.C(Asst.Prof,Govt.Arts & Science College,Calicut), Dr.R.S.Radhika(Head,Department of Hindi,Union Chiristian  College,Aluva) & Dr.Renjith R.S.Revishylam(Asst.Prof.Kerala Hindi Prachar Sabha)

Field Activity 

           As a field activity, the students were taken to International Book and Food Fest, “Krithi 2020” on 15/02/2020 which was being held at Marine Drive, Ernakulam. It opened a new world of experience and knowledge to them. 

Hindi Film fest 

          Many syllabus-orientated programmes, including Hindi film fest, were organized as well. On 29/01/2020, the movie ‘Eid Gaah’ and on 03/02/2020, the movie ‘Bade Bhai Saheb’ were screened for I BA/B.Sc students and I B.Sc Chemistry students respectively.

A Word A Day

   |(16.01.2020)        As per the instructions of the associate manager Fr. Joseph Antony Palliparambil, a new initiative was taken to enrich students’ Hindi vocabulary, “Learn Hindi – A Word A Day”. This continues successfully till date.

The Release of the Manuscript Magazine 

            A manuscript magazine, titled ‘Prakruthi’ was released by the vice Principal, Prof.Jose Xavier and presented to the Hindi students club president, Nikhil Krishnan. (10.01.2020)

Extension Activity –

       The extension activity for students was organized, in collaboration with the Department of Malayalam, at Govt. L.P School, Thrikkakara. Students interacted with the children there, discussing socially relevant issues like Swach Bharath, HIV awareness, gender equality, drug abuse, etc. Children were so keen and curious and the students interacted with them with great enthusiasm. It was a wholesome experience for everyone. (02.12.2019)

International Hindi Day Celebration

       Hindi day celebration was held under the Hindi Students’ Club(DWANI) on 10.01.2019.Vice Principal Prof.Jose Xavier presided over the function.

Hindi Vocabulary Test for Teachers

            The international Hindi day or Vishwa Hindi Diwas was observed on 10.01.2019, by conducting a Hindi vocabulary test for teachers. Teachers from many departments participated in this competition. 1st Prize- Department of Mathematics & Department of physics, 2nd Prize- Department of Commerce and 3rd Prize- Department of Chemistry.
